21 by Adele been a monster hit. The best selling albums of 2011 and 2012. A worldwide success, the album has topped the charts all around the world. It has sold an excess of 30 million copies and counting worldwide. It is credited for saving the revenue of the music industry in terms of sales for the beginning of 2012. The album has reigned number one for 24 weeks in US, making it the longest reign by a women in the chart's history.
The set produced 3 number one singles, 1 top 20 hit and another top 40 hit. The set won best pop vocal album and album of the year the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Critically acclaimed, the albums content marked a stark contrast to the type of music that was popular during it's reign. It' content was mostly adult contemporary sytled influenced by soul and blues music.
The album has been in the billboard 200 albums chart for 4 consecutive years.
This project celebrates one of the best selling albums of all time. 21, Adele. This is a print merchandising project that is styled in monochrome, corresponding to the style of the album art.
The art direction for this one is dark and gloomy as the contents of the album are about sorrow and heartbreak.
There is also a lyrical and visual booklet for reference. This project leans towards art direction and conceptualisation.
